You work directly with me from the first conversation to final handoff. No account managers, no junior designers and no disappearing for two weeks before presenting a finished answer.
The Principle
Good product design gets better through conversation. I share thinking early, work through problems with you and refine the product as we go, rather than disappearing with a brief and returning with a polished surprise.
You talk to the person doing the work.
Progress, decisions and design stay visible throughout the project.
Feedback happens during the process, not only at the end.
From Brief to Ship
We start with the business, the users, the product, the constraints and what success actually looks like. If something already exists, I look at what is working, what is getting in the way and what the available data is telling us.
Flows, structure, priorities, wireframes and scope. This is where we make sure the product makes sense before spending time polishing the interface.
The structure becomes high-fidelity product design: screens, interactions, responsive states, components and the details that make the experience feel intentional rather than assembled.
You see the work while it develops. We review, challenge, test and refine the important decisions throughout the project instead of saving feedback for one giant presentation at the end.
Final designs are organised for implementation with reusable components, clear states and developer-ready files. I can stay involved during the build to review implementation and help close the gap between Figma and the shipped product.
No Agency Layer
The person you speak to before the project is the same person designing the product.
21 years in product and digital design. Still hands-on.
AI + Design
I use modern AI tools where they genuinely help: research, exploration, prototyping, content, testing ideas, documentation and QA. The judgement, product thinking and final design decisions remain human.
Speed up discovery, synthesis and exploration.
Generate and challenge more directions before committing.
Turn ideas into working experiments faster.
Use AI to help spot inconsistencies, missing states and implementation issues.
Reduce the admin around specifications, handoff and product documentation.
The goal isn’t to make more AI output. It’s to spend more time solving the right product problems.
Day to Day
Most communication can happen asynchronously, with focused calls when a conversation is faster than another message thread. You have access to the working design throughout the project.
You can see the product evolve in Figma rather than waiting for presentations.
Progress, decisions and questions are surfaced as the work moves forward.
Review sessions are used for decisions and discussion, not status theatre.
Your Side
I don’t need a forty-page brief. I do need enough context to understand the product and make good decisions.
Someone who can make or resolve product decisions.
Existing designs, builds, analytics, research or anything else relevant.
Clear reactions are more useful than trying to prescribe the design solution.
Developers, founders, product leads or subject experts when their input matters.

Yes. Pocket Pixels is intentionally senior and hands-on. For specialist development or production work I can collaborate with your existing team or trusted partners where appropriate, but the design work stays directly with me.
Availability depends on current projects. Check the booking status shown on the site, which I update regularly. When I have a slot, projects can typically start within a week or two of scoping.
No. A clear problem and enough context to begin is usually more useful than a huge specification. Part of the process is turning that context into a clear product direction and scope.
Yes. I regularly design with implementation in mind and can work directly with developers during handoff and build review.
AI is part of the workflow where it improves speed or exploration, but it does not replace product judgement, UX thinking or final design decisions.
Yes. That is the point. The working design remains visible and feedback happens throughout the project rather than only at final presentation.
Start a project
Send the Figma, live product, deck or even a rough message. I’ll tell you what I think it needs, whether I’m the right fit and roughly what it’ll cost.
